Today, I visited with Cindy & John Chrysler about their specialty niche product - toy barns - for this episode of the Accidental Pren-her podcast. Streamside Farm is a unique home-based business that builds toy barns made out of cork pine. These great barns are built to scale to match most toy horses, and each barn comes with a booklet about the original barn’s history.

Hello Cindy and John,
I love how you are taking barns that are being torn down and repurposing them, while carrying their history forward. It’s a wonderful blend of skill, education and fun. It is great that the whole family was involved in the process. What a fabulous business!
Cheers!

I agree with Angela. Your toy barns help to sustain the environment, preserve our forests, and inspire the imagination of children and entrepreneurs, alike. Not only that, they are affordable, aesthetically pleasing, and long lasting.
What a fabulous product you have!

Thank you for your kind comments. We enjoyed sharing our vision with Susan and all her listeners. We've really enjoyed learning a lot ourselves about our own history as well. It's been a fun journey and we look forward to where it will lead us. The family's even more involved than you realize, as our son did all the web design. It's been a fun project to work together on.

This is a wonderful idea, and I would be very interested to see how the "kit" part of business comes along. It seems that there would be a lot of potential amongst model builders. So this product would span from children to adult hobbyists. Very exciting! It was a great interview; I enjoyed hearing from a husband and wife TEAM.

Thanks, Moschel. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole thing come together myself. I hadn't thought about model builders. I'll keep that in mind for sure.

Moschel, what a great idea! I like your thought about expanding this into the adult hobbyist arena!
